Afterlife tells the story of two best friends who, with the help of near-future technology, upload their consciousness to the cloud, allowing them to continue playing games together beyond death. This concept reflects Shawn's vision of future technology and its practical applications, painting a vivid picture of a futuristic world.
Technical Details
Actors are transformed into 8-bit characters, and a Mario-style side-scrolling scene is built using Adobe After Effects, complete with animations. Glitch effects add diverse gaming styles beyond Mario. Live-action footage is shot with a green screen, keyed out, and composited into futuristic cryogenic chambers, visualizing the consciousness upload process.
